This week I noticed some black oil draining from both weep holes on the lower unit below the prop. Is this normal if the engine was run recently but for not very long (just to load the boat a couple times on a trailer). I've tried to search other forums but all I can find is unburned oil/gas mixture from the exhaust. I just want to make sure this is not a seal leaking gear oil. I just recently filled the gear case with new oil a few weeks ago. I have pictures of the weep holes but this forum will not let me upload the image files to this post.

Likely unburned fuel/oil residue... especially since the LU lube is probably clean.

If it's gummy and sticky to fingers and with odor, definitely unburned combustion leftovers, it's normal. On next outing run the horse at full wot for some minutes to clear unburned leftovers on leg.

Happy Boating

What mixture are you running? What make and model?
If there's too much oil that won't help things.
