At 4:30 am this morning the phone rings and starts the first of a half dozen phone calls. These women are nuts. We have about 8-10 inches of blowing and drifting snow. My wife waits for her ride at the end of our driveway in 10 degree weather and off they go, 50 miles to the city to get a good deal. They are gone about 10 minutes and my wife calls me to tell me they are in the ditch waiting for a tow because the roads aren't plowed yet. Whats wrong with WOMEN?

LMAO :D

Believe it or not, I hate shopping, especially in crowds and heavy traffic. To me, today is the worst possible day of the year to shop. I'm not sure the 'specials' are really all that special. Dosen't matter if they are.....

I'm going fishing! :)

Re: Black Friday

Today when I opened the doors at Best Buy, the line circled the entire building. There were at least 6-800 people. There were 12 people there before I even got there this morning at midnight. They were all bundled though given the temperature was less that 10.

Today is offical camp out in the house day around here.

The only thing I'm going out for today is to take the boy to the pet store to setup a new aquarium. the pet store in a stripmall with 2 hair cut places, a grocery store, tax place and dry cleaners. Figure it should be pretty safe.

"Tell me OMC,she actually got up at 4 to go to Syracuse??????????"

Not Syracuse rolmops , That would be 80 miles. They went to Utica. I'm 1/2 way between Watertown and Utica 2 miles off state RT 12.

We have most of our shopping done already. They just go for the fun???? of it.

Re: Black Friday

We didn't do it this year but we have our own solution to the Black Friday. Most of the specials are only a few dollars more the day before. We just go on Thanksgiving evening. Its worth the little bit we don't save.

Re: Black Friday

LMAO LF.....this line was just for the day after stuff. XBOX's have been sold out since the second they came out.

Generally I agree with ya Kenneth, but this is the first time in retail in the last 5 years I have worked it that I know the day after stuff is a good deal. I'm talking $100's below cost on some stuff. Is it worth the wait in a long line in the cold, no.....but it can be if you know what you are looking for.

My wife left at 5:15 this morning for the sales.

Last night, she put all the ads in alphabetical order and made a spreadsheet on the computer of what stores she was going to and what she was buying there.

I don't understand it, but she LOVES it.

Then again, she never questions me when I spend an hour at the sporting goods store looking at a new reel.. :)

Re: Black Friday

I like getting to the store earlier just to watch the people. They are so funny to watchc fighting in the isles.

My wife left at around 5 this morning too. She has the ads and the christmas list. Looks like by getting there between 7 and 11 a.m. we will save a little over $200 on our Christmas lists. The bad thing is with all the specials she will buy over $200 of extra junk we probably don't need.

My question is always, her and her mother will buy something because it is on sale and dirt cheap. They will brag that they save so much money. Now they wouldn't have purchased the thing had it been regular price so was that really a savings?

"What's wrong with women?"

Hahaha. :D

Think of it like this, OMC: Suppose Super Bowl tickets were going on sale, first come, first served, at 4:00 AM. $5.00 per ticket for the first 1,000.

I am staying home today, and I will do most of my Christmas shopping here: http://www.iboats.com/mall/

Re: Black Friday

4am?? 5am??? If you had gotten up that late this morning you be person number like 500 in line. If people want to wait in the frigid cold for 5 hours thats their choice. Like I said before some stuff is a deal for example.....$90 off a 120g hardrive, Laptop for $300, deskotops for $100, 42' Plasmas for $150.......etc.

Which TV pjc? Have you been to the new Best Buy in Menomonee Falls yet?
