I've been in 'analysis paralysis' mode for the past few months. My 'new' boat came complete with a broken GPS, so i've been waffling on what to buy.
I'm very taken with the new Garmin 740 series touch-screen, but... I finally decided it was just too pricey for me.
One step down, there's the Garmin 546 (5" display) and Lowrance HDS-7 (6.4" display) with Nautic Insight running pretty close in price everywhere.
I found a good price on the HDS-7M (non-sounder) unit and placed the order today. Since I've decided to keep GPS and depth sounder functions separate this time, I ordered a Lowrance x67c fishfinder, too.
Ugh, lots of money, at least for me. But I'm glad I finally flipped the coin
