Hi All

I don't know if its because Oprah was here:confused::confused::confused: but I am YET to get my xmas present on the water! Anyhow, the Engine is a 125HP Force, and I noticed the prvious owner has installed an aftermarket fuel filter. Its a big one too. Would this be starving the engine of fuel pressure at high RPM? Again- its only revving to about 3800 or so, and I have been thinking prop/fuel/spark. I have bought a comp tester, however, the engine is less than 8 hours since a complete rebuild, and I wondered if the fuel filter was a possible cause for this.

Cheers from Sydney!:)

The big filter is probably a fuel/water separator, You should take it off and dump it in a bottle and see it there is any water or all water. you should replace this filter and if the one you poured in a bottle had a lot of water in it, You should check again shortly for water.

Also check your filter in your engine'

Do you have good solid spark to all your cylinders?

If so You should make sure that you have a good flow of fuel pulsing out of your fuel pump.

If you have spark and good fuel flow, You'll have to check your carbs next.

This is all based on your rebuild being right and you having good compression on all cylinders.
