Bimini Top for 2004 Sea Ray 180 BR Sport

My wife and I just had our first baby in December, and we really enjoy boating, however I know we will need to have some shade for our son. I would like to put a Bimini Top on our 2004 Sea Ray 180 BR Sport with the sunpad, and I looked at the Sea Ray bimini tops from the Sea Ray Dealer and it is $900 plus $100 for the boot and installation on top of that! I don't mind doing the install myself, but I can't see spending $1,000 when I only gave $8,000 for the boat two years ago. Any suggestions and pointers as I look for a top? The dealer told me that an aftermarket one would not have the rear braces that keep it up off of the sunpad, which I really want, but I see some on websites, but they don't look as compact as the Sea Ray brand. Any thoughts or suggestions for me?

$1,000? Yeah, that's a bit much even considering the cost increase which comes with anything "marine". I don't know the layout of your boat but anything is possible with 1" aluminum tubing and the connecting hardware available here on iboats, so it doesn't sound right that aftermarket bimini's wouldn't work for you. I bought my last bimini which fit a 20' with a 8'8" beam for $100, and it was Sunbrella fabric.

get one from iboats-and rear braces are $50 extra. easy to order & install a real nice Westland
is less than $400.

$1000 seems a bit steep. We have one for our boat like the one pictures above and it came from the factory. Whatever you pick, make sure that all hardware is stainless.

You are not searching enough got my for under 200 bucks on sale. On a 19ft. wide boat Had a old top pulled the fittings made my own back bars to hold up bimini.

It works something like this....

$400 top, $50 braces, 100% dealer markup + $100 installation =$1000

I paid something like $120 for my Westland Sunbrella top after scouring flEbay for a month....
