I have now ordered three Bimini tops and am at my wits end on getting one installed. If I install it to the outside of my window glass it doesn't fold flat on the rear deck due to the curve of the glass. I have watched numerous install videos and I noticed some install on the outside of the glass and some on the inside. I am looking for some advice on which way is correct or any pointers someone could give me on this. I wish I could find an OEM one.

Mine installs to the top of the cap behind the glass. Straps then pull the canvas taunt by clipping to the windshield frame. Mine will never, ever lay flat on the sunpad - this is due to the way it mounts on the boat.

Given the age of the boat and your wants/desires, my humble suggestion would be to ante up some beer tokens (and it may be $$$$) to have a canvas shop make one to your specs. Only other option might be boat salvage yards but given the age you're still looking at having a new canvas custom made for the frame.

**The convertible tops on my Bayliner and Four Winns did not lay flat either. Going off memory one set of anchor points for the aluminum frame was on top of the window channel. I honestly forget where the other set were. The front used snaps to anchor to the windshield.
