Hi All

I am trying to find a tower mounted Bimini for my Maxum 1800 SR3 with a Roswell tower.

I know Roswell makes one, but I cant justify over a grand for a bimini!

I have the original one for the boat, but it won't fit as it is too wide to pass through the tower.

Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated!

Cheers

Re: Bimini for Roswell tower

I put a Samson tower on my '07 210 Chaparral, one of the reason I went w/ Samson is I could keep my original bimini. I wasn't going to pay extra money for a bimini that would be smaller than the original. I had to modify the way I open it, it takes two of us now, but have the new procedure down now and is no big deal.

I don't know how your bimini is attached but mine is attached to the top of the windshield frame. With the bimini up and locked in to the rear support poles I pull the quick release pins on the windshield, drop the bimini down a little, unfurl it and then pin the bimini back in place. I thought it would be a big deal at first but it's not. And when I'm not using it I can strap it to the tower so it don't rock back and forth and put stress on the windshield mount. When I mounted my tower I positioned it w/ the bimini up.

Thanks Skiya!

My tower was already mounted when I bought it.

Maybe I will look into narrowing my factory bimini to fit.

Would the Aerial tower bimni not bolt right over it?

Re: Bimini for Roswell tower

I ran into the same issue of not wanting to pay a fortune to use the factory bimini after adding a tower. I was able to use my factory bimini by cutting off 1in of each of the 6 legs for my bimini and now I can still use it. Just as Skiya mentioned though I also have to set it up in a different order than I did before, but I didn't have to pay extra money for a new one!

Good luck!

Thanks Pat

I will have to measure, as last time I physically tried to mount the bimini, it was too wide, but maybe lowering it will gain some room.

Thanks

Once I get some spare cash layin around I'm planning on snagging the over/under style. I was quoted nearly a grand by the same company that did my entire bow and cockpit canvas which was only $800.... I told them that's astronomical and not good customer relations after already spending nearly a grand before. They also just sell the tower brackets to allow you to make one yourself if you felt crafty enough. I may also go this route too.
