I have a Maxum 2000 SR3 that has a bimini mounted to the window frame via ball socket mounts like these:

The screw has stripped the threads and is pulling out. I pulled it off and tried to tap it just a little larger, but the problem is that I can't use a larger screw cause the head won't seat itself into old screw recess as the head is too big. I ended up using headless hex screws

but they don't seem like they want to stay.

Is there another way to solve this problem? I feel like at some point the hole will just be too big and I don't see an alternative to fixing this.

It's the frame that's the issue. That's what is stripped. I could buy a new ball socket, but would have the same problem.

Get riv-nuts, or weld the hole up and redrill

Try some JB WELD in the hole might work out fine.
I had the same problem. stripped out screw hole in the window frame for the bimini fitting. I used liquid metal/ JB weld and screwed it in. Let it sit overnight. It's been solid all last season!!
