Would having a marine engine that has sat for a while benifit from having a Bilstein type flushing done to it as part of a re- conditioning etc.??
I am looking at buying a old used boat with i/o of some kind or may have one given to me, Was just wondering if that was used on marine engines or is it to hard to get the oil drain connection,??? or ???
I have had good results in some of my higher mileage autos with the oil system flushing but was wondering about marine apps.
Thanks, I have been reading and learning a lot form all you old salts.
Thankss

Re: bilstein engine flush

If you are referring to the motorized mounted oil change pumps mounted in the engine compartment and connected to the drain in the oil pan,YES they are great!!!! I installed one on my last boat which had 1 v8 motor.I loved it and the motor loved it.It was a little tough to get to the drain plug to connect the fitting. My current boat has twin v8s and I would love to do the same install but I am no contortionist(spell check). No **** room in there. It used to take me 5 minutes to drain the oil.It was so easy that I used to pour a quart of oil in when I was done draining and the take that out ,just to rinse any remaining old oil that was hiding in there before I refilled it.
