Re: BILGE PUMP

Gabe,

Take it out and make sure there is nothing jammed in it. That is not unusual for a new boat. There always seems to be some kind of junk left over in a new hull.

Two wires vs. three wires. It depends on whether or not your pump is an automatic or not. If it had a three position switch, it will most likely have three wires.

The new ones are easy to install. Most of the makers use the same color coding on the wire. If you buy the same brand, they will be the same.

Might I suggest that if it does need a new one, GO BIGGER! This is one area boat makers scrimp. If it has a 500, go to a 750 or 1000, etc.

Re: BILGE PUMP

Some pumps have a slotted cover that can be removed,if thats the case,it may just need a cleaning. As above check for power, etc. no big deal, they are cheapand easy to replace.

Re: BILGE PUMP

Depends what type it is..

does yours use a float to engage the motor?

is the motor spinning and nothing happening?

is it blocked or something caught in the diaphram or impeller?

could be any of a dozen or more things..

get a multimeter and test for power if the above are fine before you go stressing about it..

rgds

Frank
