Bilge pump and float switch

I tried a search and couldn't find anything except threads about problems with a bilge pump. I would think this question comes up fairly often as a common newbie inquiry. I have a boat that is just a hull and one of the many things I need is a bilge pump. Which brand of bilge pump and float switch should I purchase? I know sizing of pump depends on boat size, I have a 15' Sea Sprite bow rider. I imagine a small pump would do just fine but I would rather have one that is slightly over sized than one that is just right. I see a lot of pumps on iboats from $20 to over $100. What brands are good, what brands should I avoid, what justifies the high price on some? Same question on float switches.

Thanks
DJ

Re: Bilge pump and float switch

Small boats need the biggest bilge pump that will fit. They take water over the bow easier, the bilge is much smaller, hence it can fill quicker, all the reason to put a Rule 1500 GPH with a Rule-a-Matic float switch...I agree with Bondo...
