so I think rain got into the carburetor as I can see a lot of water corrosion inside it. I immediately pulled the Carb. out and cleaned it. I looked down the block and doesn't noticed much but water around it. Wiped it down with a shop tower and clean the carburetor some more. I checked the oil dipstick and doesn't look like water gotten inside the block yet. I have no idea how water got inside the carb. I have not started the motor as I broke one of the spark plug coating and auto stores are closed at the moment.

-What am I'm looking at worst case scenario?

First, take it easy. There is not a delema until there is one.
Second there is no such thing as a Ford 350 small block.

Take out all the spark plugs and crank the engine with the starter. if water comes out the spark plug holes, crank it until it stops and then shoot some light oil the cylinders and crank it some more. If no water comes out, your golden.
Dump out the carb, clean it as needed and put it back on.
No water in the oil, good.
put the plugs back in and fire it up.
Just done leave it sit with water in the cylinders for long and dont crank it over with water in their either.
I never heard of a spark plug coating, so you may want to explain what you mean there.

See that didnt hurt a bit..

LOL.. Sorry, I'm not a car guy. For some reason I thought all carb. V8 are considered 350 small block, but I know now they are Chevy's only...:)

I meant the white coating around the plug itself. One piece broke off. I did however cranked with just 3 spark plugs out and no water shoot out. I don't have a compression tester, so I just put my finger around the spark plug hole to see if there are any air pushing out of the cylinder and I did noticed strong air shooting out but did not noticed any water shooting out. Do all the plugs have to be taken off or am I good? The motor has always run fine.

Thanks Guys

yeah I think that's what the previous owner said. I took it in for service last year and my technician did stated he hated these motors. Hard parts to find and parts are usually more expensive then the standard Mercruiser.

yeap it turns over normally like it always does. No water shooting out from the plugs. I will buy some new plugs tomorrow and light this thing up tomorrow.

It's damn near 100 degree today and I'm burning scorching hot in the sun. Damned. Should of been out enjoying the water today...:(
