So, long story short, winterizing the boat went well till the last part.

the drain plug on the upper side of the outdrive, for draining the cavity in the pivot assembly, broke. head broke clean off of it. so, no big deal, ill just drill it out, get a new plug, call it a day.

well, the "easy out" snapped off inside of it as well. tried drilling that out too, but those are hardeded steel and it just ate up a few of my bits. the area is pretty mangled now. im thinking i just need to replace that pivot assembly housing piece at this point. its all stuck in there to the point i doubt itll leak, so, do i just say fark it and leave it alone? it seemed dry in there, i had no signs of moisture when i did punch through the old plug, however, i never tilted the drive back down. so im back to square one with a plugged up hole and now a nasty looking plug area.

the easy out bit is in there about maybe a 1/4 inch protruding into whatever is inside there. its been made a real mess. anything in there that this may affect? or is this just a water passage with nothing important inside?

thoughts?

ive ended yesterday feeling like crap for accomplishing nothing and just making things worse. should have just left it alone and not tried to drain that area.:(
