Me and my brother-in-law did a lot of night fishing for catfish back in the 1960's one night we caught a 62# channel cat at lake Shawnee in Topeka Kansas, We carried it oto the weigh in station that morning and weighed it in for the lake record, but when the fellow weighed it he said it had to weigh over 63# because a woman had caught it he day before on a 6#test line and her and her husband took them 8hours to land it. we never had a problem linding the big fish we caught on the lake we used Deep sea rod and reels and sleep in a tent on shore until the rigs started singng the we would set the hook and the get in the 12 foot boat and the cat fosh would pull up the lake untill it got so tired it would give up and he & I would pupphim over in the boat. If you don't believe me look upm the topeka News paper in 1962 and read the story. G. Norris
