We went from a string of 90+ degree days to a massive cold front that brought rain and temps in the 60's for three solid days now. Not sure of the rainfall amounts but it has to be well over three inches. Tomorrow will dawn cloudy and cool. I will be on the lake. This lake has a constant stain and was a good 16 inches low before the rain. The water temps were in the low 80's before the rain.

Let me pick your brains and ask what would you do to put some bass in the boat? This lakes has a good population of LM and a fair population of SM. It has no weeds to speak of, a hard rocky bottom, and many steep shale bluff banks that have secondary ledges as well as some off shore humps and bumps. I know what I am going to try , just wanted some input here, maybe learn a few new tricks.

Nope, not waiting wish I could. My fishing time is limited and I go when I have some time. Hopefully I can kick the skunk out of the boat early, then get home to split some wood.

Re: Big cold front.

It was a tough bite, I fished Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The water temps were down a full ten degrees Thursday from all the rain. They were back up a few degrees by Sunday. The only pattern I could find was a Crawfish crankbait. Boated fish all three days on that, but only a few and nothing over three pounds. I tried everything I knew. Everything from Topwater to Drop shot in 30 foot depths. I fish this place every week and this was one of the worst few days I have ever had. Talk about lockjaw. But it sure beat the heck out of work. I'll be out this weekend giving it heck.
