Anyone ever use this in their boat fuel tank? We used a can in our 2005 Durango SLT 169,000 miles on it and it fixed our gas gauge as well as it feels like it runs better/smoother.

Our boat is a 1992 Celebrity 200 Cuddy w/a Mercruiser 5.7L I/O V8 350 Chevy engine with 235 hours on it. The block was replaced in 2016. The gas gauge could be stuck, because yesterday, the gauge read "full", but we know it's not. I also had the throttle almost flat down and the speedometer was only reading 27mph. I now have a iPhone App Speedometer that will tell me how fast we are going, the next time we take the boat on the water. The boat should be going faster than 27mph with an engine this big.

Since our boat gas tank holds 55 gallons, we bought two cans of the BG44K, but won't put it in until next Spring. Not enough boating days left here in northern Colorado now.

Actually, our old northeastern Florida marine mechanic, who had worked on our boat engine before we moved, has never heard of BG products (oil and gas treatments), but told me this AM "they should be fine for you".

So, what fuel system cleaner do boaters here use on their boats?

I use gasoline out of the pump.
Nothing else.
Change filters occasionally.

Ayuh,..... I use Non-ethanol gasoline,......

If yer fuel system is dirty, ethanol is a great solvent, which is one of it's problems,....

In the auto business, companies like BG and MOC come in periodically to see if you'll use their products (you know; the wallet flush that most places hit you with whenever you bring your vehicle in. Transmission flush, PS service, EFI service, battery terminal service, etc.). As far as that goes, BG products were one of the most useful I've used, and the BG44K is a solid fuel system cleaner. There are lots out there that are in fact useless, but BG isn't one of them.
