Good evening,
Looking back through many of the previous responses I believe that I already have my answer, but it never hurts to ask (on my end at least). 1984 BF75l runs fine, but I may be toasting it. At idle I get nothing out of the "pee" hole, throw 1000 rpm on her & it flows fine. My question, should I see water flow at idle, if so should I be looking for an obstruction, or a bad impeller. I was under the assumption that the water pump was a do or die piece of equipment, either it works or it doesn't. So have I made an *** out of me for an incorrect assumption. , I seem to recall always seeing a stream of water. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks again.

had the same problem with my bf8a, dealer said should see water even at idle, check the impeller.

Re: bf75 water flow?

The BF8M does pump a decent solid stream at idle. Putting in a new impeller is not too hard, at least. If you pull or lower the leg, you should be able to check flow by sending water or air up the tube that attaches to the top of the pump - you could probably craft some sort of simple adapter to a garden hose that would push on the end of that tube and see if water flow well.
