ready to go out fishing tomorrow so started the motor in my bin and let it run on idle for 10 mins and the pee didnt get warm, i then removed the cover and felt the head it was warm but not too hot to touch so i put it in gear and left it for 5 minutes and the pee water got hot so thought all was good but felt the head and it was so warm i couldnt hold my hand on it and there was smoke from the exhaust
i removed the manifold hoping to find it all blocked or a stuck thermostat but it was clear and the is no thermostat and it looked like there had been no water through the passages where the thermostat should be, i have blown through thports and there not blocked
is it possible that the water pump be worn out but still pump water from the pee hole ??
any other suggestions ?

How big is the bin you're running it in? Engine could be warming the water in the bin...
