Hey all,

Engine starts up fine. Once under load the front of boat goes in air and seems the engine is winding out like its gonna explode into rpm neverland. The motor runs fine until I go past start on the throttle. I am told you can not spin a prop on this motor. I have looked at the shear pin and looks good. I have also drained the oil and looked at all the gears, they look fine. I can seem to figure out how to drop the lower unit. Any suggestions on what this could be and how to drop the lower unit? thanks!

Figured it out! It was the prop. The pressed brass piece inside the prop that accepts the shear pin was spinning within the prop. How i figured this (with my brothers help) was...mark the pressed brass piece inside the prop and the prop. Put a wrench on the flywheel and tried to turn the prop in gear. The markings were off indicating that the pressed brass piece was spinning inside the prop. Ordering a new prop and on the water again!
Hope this helps someone.
