As previously mentioned in another thread fishing trip cut short when pee stream failed to perform .
I did run it on the muffs but , also previously said , it doesnt go so well on the muffs but works in the water , something I had put down to not much water pressure on the hose and muffs not sealing well and that extra inlet on underside of cavitation plate , so when a bit of water peed out I called it a good un and went fishing .
Started the motor in the lake expecting the thrust from the pee stream to push the boat forward ... but no , all I got was a dribble and some steam followed by the shrill sound of ....... 😀you all thought I was going to say the overheat alert but no , although that did come shortly after , it was Di shrieking about being able to see the bottom which we then contacted ....which then lead to the wet nuts

As you can see the impeller housing is warped , pic doesnt really show but there is nearly 2mm gap in the middle . This impeller housing and the pump base ( also holds drive shaft oil seals ) which are plastic look like they have got very hot at some stage as they are both miss-shaped .
With the benefit of hindsight I think this has been an issue sinse before I owned this motor . I had a pump kit on hand but not the base which is supposed to be here today . Im keen to see the difference with an all new pump .
The thing that pisses me off is that I have twice previously held that impeller housing in my hand and didnt see that it was damaged ☹️
Whoo hoo just got the txt the part is in town ..... see ya

Well after fitting the new bits , basically the whole pump assy, the bastard thing was no better . 1st pic is the impeller housing with the rubber gromet thing for the tube that takes water from the pump up to the motor , 2nd pic shows it fully home . 2nd pic also shows the impeller housing has got so hot it has started to carbonise the plastic , also shows where the stainless liner has melted into the housing.
After assembling the thing for the 2nd time without success I got to thinkin that when I blow compressed air up that tube I get lots of air out the pee tube and out the t/stat housing....so not blocked . As I checked the end of that tube ( to make sure it couldnt move out of position ) I noticed the end had a big burr around half its circumference o_O, so I gets the impeller housing with the gromet in place and try to push it over the end of the tube .... no go so I puts my palm over the housing and give it a good shove ,it pushed the gromet out against my palm ...................and the gromet folded in on itself and blocked the pump outlet . Problem solved . I give that tube end a wizz with the dremel sanding drum , nice smooth rounded edge where the burr was ,put the thing together noting that it was now easier to seat the gearcase , chucked on the muffs and it pissed like never before . That burr has been there since new and , again with the hindsight this pump has been borderline the whole time I have owned the motor ......probly why the last guy sold it .While running I cracked the t/stat housing and got a good spray of water . Yee ha !
