I stored my recently prchased 1996 bf15 for a month the wrong way up...tried to start and cant pull cord..I will be removing the plugs to turn it over and maybe a socket on the the flywheel nut? trying it next weekend...I have read that I should allso clean the carb and plugs. I have checked the stick and it looks good allthough about an oz of oil leaked out.I allso need to replace the shift lever which is snapped off but usable with vice grips.Any idea where I can find the exploded view of this motor online?thanks in advance

Re: bf15 siezed?

the crankcase oil leaked out through the intake and into the cylinders and filled them...once you pull the plugs you'll know

Re: bf15 siezed?

In all likelyhood ,your cylinders are full of oil and depending on if this is a 15a or 15d your carb maybe full of oil as well.Either way, remove the spark plugs and pull this thing over then marvel at the distance that oil will travel.Do'nt have the wife,kids,dog,etc....standing around while your doing this and have plenty of rags on hand. Pull it over untill you think you've kinda gotten all the oil out then clean the s plugs, install them, check your oil level, get to a water source, and fire this thing off.Do'nt expect it to fire off first pull and you may have to respray those plugs.Expect a big plume of smoke when it finally do'es.Hope this helps.
