Honda BF15A:
I know I have a fuel starvation problem with my 1985 BF15A Honda kicker. The reason is the fuel is being taken from my main fuel tank which is 3ft lower and 10 ft away with the mail fuel filter and a check valve in line. The fuel pump just isn’t powerful enough. Works fine with portable tank in close range. My question: Is there a way to beef up the fuel pump. An after market racing pump maybe? Or I believe the pump diaphragm is actuated by crankcase pressure if so can the orifices to the pump could be drilled out some to get more diaphragm actuation? Your thoughts please?

Re: BF15 fuel starvation issue

If the motor shares fuel line with main engine then I would suggest that you install fuel shutoffs. When you use main then fuel to kicker would be closed, when you use the kicker then fuel to main should be closed. I know the post is a month old but thought I would throw it in anyway in case you still have issues.
