To all applicable--- I received a Honda safety notice informing me of a manufacturer defect in the shift arm on these engines. Notice reads that this arm may break preventing the engine from shifting into/out of gear. I had this happen to one of my engines just a week before this notice came out and had a replacement arm on order.
Recall continues to read that they recommend stop using the engine(s) until the arm is replaced with an approved shift arm. Also to contact your Honda dealer for appointments and repairs.
The replacement arm I got is the exact same arm as the one that broke and I'm inquiring further into it. For the time being, I installed it anyway to get the engine back up and going. It takes about 30 minutes to replace if you do it yourself.
Just an FYI to those it pertains to.
