I replaced my impeller last year with the help of this forum. Thanks again.

Last week my motor started running rough. We pulled it out of the lake and checked the oil.
It had water in it. What could be the problem?
And what is the worst case scenario? There was no overheat light/warning.

Thank you in advance.

Re: BF115 trouble

What year? A cracked head or a blown head gasket come to mind - worse case. Call a dealer, Honda had issues with 130 heads and the 115 is the same block (I think). They extended the warranty on the bad ones up to 10 years.

Re: BF115 trouble

Do a search in the Honda section for cracked heads. Honda recalled a range of model #'s. Luckily, my model/serial # was outside of the range. There was a thread that listed the model/serial #'s affected.

HeadHunt

Re: BF115 trouble

Thank you for the replies.
I did find a list of serial numbers recalled for the 2000 model. Mine is one of them. I have moved since we bought the boat and who knows if Honda has my new address.
I will be calling the repair place tommorrow.

thanks again. I did not think about recalls.

Honda will honor their end of the bargain. You should not have any problem except for the aggravation of the repair itself. If your engine turns out to be one of the bad ones, I think they replace the power-head and give a 10 year warranty.

HeadHunt
