My BF40 quit on me recently I had to get towed in. I later found the culprit was water in the gas. I drained the tank, the carb bowls and the fuel line, and changed the filter and put in new spark plugs. It ran fine for several hours but I now get a rough idle and it often quits at idle. It runs fine above 2,000 rpm and tops out fine at 5,500rpm. I suspect there is some water/crud in one of the low speed jets. Any suggestions on how to clear the problem other than taking it to a dealer?
