BF 20 Tachometer & harness

Hello,<br /> I just bought a Honda BF20 with electric start and power tilt. I went to get a tach for it and the dealer says I need to buy aother harness to attach it to the controls $50, can I wire it myself and will the teleflex sportsman series tach work on it?<br /><br />All the best,<br />Steve

I wired my own - BF50A - and did not bother with the harness. Solder the wires and use heatshrink.The handbook has the colour codes in it - use a magnifying glass! The "harness" just goes between the control unit and the tach. I didn't bother hooking up a back-light. I don't know about individual tach models - I bought a Honda one, and an hour-meter.<br />Alan L. in BC
