We have a BF 150 and it will run good for about a minute and then feels like it is going into limp mode but no lights or alarms are going off. It won't run past 1500. The pisser water never gets hot, should it? but does have a lot of pressure? There is a lot of water coming out from where the speedometer hose enters the lower unit, the hole is larger than the hose and a lot of water is coming out of there, is this normal? Water pump is new everything sems fine such as the water pipe, gromet etc.... The water hoses on the powerhead all get warm. The engine gets too hot to touch in the first few minutes but then cools down so you can touch it so the thermostat is working. I took them both out and tested in boiling water and they open and close properly. Thanks for any help

Re: BF 150 problem

Hi,
If it doesnt rev up check the cables and linkage and ensure full throttle.
Check the fuel and fuel line is ok and the vent screw of the petrol tank loose.
let me know how it responds in full throttle.
Regards

Re: BF 150 problem

I didn't explain it very clearly. It will run fine for about a minute even up to WOT but then it stuters and I think it is going into limp mode and possibly because of an overheating issue. There are no alarms, lights etc.. although they are working properly. I am thinking 1 certain passage may be blocked or something and the rest of the motor is being cooled fine, is this possible? I did the diagnostic and got code 7(TP sensor), 25 (ECT sensor 3)and 27(ECT sensor 4) but cleared them and they did not come back after running again with the same problem. Oil, plugs, all filters, fuel are all new.
