I have a 2001 bf130 with a speed sensor problem. The speedo was working just fine and then the plastic nipple on the case extention broke. I removed the plastic threads from the case and pluged the hole with a plastic plug. I ran the motor for about 2 weeks as normal. When the new nipple arrived I replaced it, but it has not worked since.

When I blow air down the line I can see the speedo gauge reacting.

Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.

Thank you.

Re: BF 130 speed sensor

Disconnect the line coming out of the engine and blow air back into the tube going into the engine. It is pretty common for the hole in the motor to clog up. I don't even try using mine any more, just depend on the wheel on the transon and GPS.
