Best way to keep boat dry

I have an older 17' jon boat that has a carpeted deck. The boat mostly stays in the water in the creek behind my house tied up to a floating dock. I use a cover with all sorts of crazy ways to try and keep the cover tented properly. Either way (like tonight) a good rain will cause a decent amount of water in the boat. I won’t be able to easily build a real roof over the boat and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to keep the boat drier when it rains.

Put a hand-crank winch on the landward end of the dock. Crank it up on the dock and flip it over.
