Prices seem highest in the Spring, when everyone's out hunting for a boat for the upcoming season. Fall's not so good, since people aren't thinking boating, except maybe to sell theirs so they can buy a better one in the Spring.<br /><br />Summer's OK, since some folks have had a problem with their current boat and need another one RIGHT NOW!<br /><br />For me, the best time to sell a boat is after I've bought a different one.

When to sell? When it starts leaking.. Seriously, In the sping most people I know are doing projects to either upgrade they're boat or make it last one more year. You may also find those who decide to buy for the first time or replace a boat. I would say advertise in the fall. If it's a good deal someone will buy it. If they don't they will have the winter to think it over. Whatever the case it won't go fast unless it's a great deal no matter when you sell it.

January and February! Tax refunds are burning a hole in peoples pockets and they are after the boat they've been dreaming about all winter. There simply is no interest in late summer, fall and early winter. The only buyers are those like me that take advantage of a down market.

Take advantage of the tax checks like Upinsmoke said. The upcoming season is not a good selling time. Its a buyers market. Not many people want to invest in a toy only to let it sit for 5 months. I found my deal in Ocotber. Don't expect to get full price unless you really trying to move it.<br /><br />Good Luck<br />K

I sold my WAC with a 225 in four weeks last Feb. I took a hit for a few thou. because of the engine size but was glad to see her go. There are going to be a lot of rigs on the market especially the ones with big engines because of the cost of gas. Good luck.<br />Stalker
