I recommend using OMC props. They are manufactured by design to perform better within the torque curve parameters of your Evinrude engine and gear ratios.Unless you run a high performance boat I would use the SST2 OMC within a pitch range that allows your engine optimal rpms within its WOT operating range.

Ditto on the OMC brand. Michigans are not of the quality the OMC and many others for that matter. It does make a difference!!

The SST props are single cupped. The difference is that the SST2 props are double cupped. Here's a link that lists OMC props for your motor.
www.a1discountprop.com

thanks ob,whats the difference from having a single cupped prop to a double?the omc site says if you upgrade to a sst from a aluminum prop you want to get the sst in the same size and pitch as the aluminum if your motor is in the rpm range.
scott

That's correct. If your Rpms are at the upper end of the range where you want them I would stay with the same diameter and pitch.I think you will see a slight increase in performance as the SST has a thinner leading edge and blade thickness allowed by its stainless composition and its double cupped design will dischrge more water than its aluminum counterpart. Not to mention its durability.
