Best spot for a Temp Sender?

Hey Fellas!

So the UPS guy just dropped off my new Temp Sending Unit with the "Z" bracket (contact type). I'm wondering where the best spot would be to install?

I have this empty threaded bolt hole at the top of the block that would work...

Should I put it there?

Or, should I use one of the head bolts? And if so, port side? Starboard? High? Low?

In short, what's the spot that will give me the best reading?

Thanks in advance:)

We've always put them under a water jacket cover bolt on a head. Right between a couple cylinders.

The instructions with mine said to mount it using one of the head bolts on the top cylinder. That makes sense because the top cylinders are more likely get hot first if there's a problem with cooling water flow.
