Best Spinning Rod for Catfish Shorefishing

OK, I want to do some shore fishing for Channel and Flathead cats in the Mississipi and St. Croix rivers here in Minnesota.<br /><br />I'm a devout spinning tackle user. Does anyone have a recommendation for a suitable rod? I have all the big spinning reels I can handle, since I moved to MN from California, where I did a lot of surf fishing, but I sold my surf rods before I came here....no ocean here.<br /><br />All suggestions gratefully received.

You might want to check out Basspro. I bought a Catmax outfit with a baitcaster and really like it. They come in spinning too.<br /><br />Love those cats!!!

Id have to agree with the catmaxxxxx rods. Great rod for the price of CHEAP! Basspro has them along with online. Get a Abu reel for baitcast or a big spinning and you should be havin fun when those bigguns hit.

Cant beat an uglystick. Scheels has some nice rods of different makes. I moved from the bay area to detroit lakes and made the same mistake. I sure miss the delta! The red river has some awesome catfishing. do an internet search and you will see what Im talking about. My e-mail is vx74@aol.com if you ever head this way I can tell you some good spots. Glen
