i will need a servive manual for my 30 hp tohatsu. i was not impressed with the tohatsu manual for my 9.8. does anyone make a better one? also i am thinking of going with a 3.3 gal tank for the motor, the 6 gal is cumbersome and takes up too much room. what does a 3.3 gal cost? i will kee4p both but will probably hardly ever use the 6, i should have swapped it out for a 3. i had discvuused it with my dealer .

Re: best service manual

Don't expect a 50% price reduction by reducing size, those 3 gal tank costs around $ 70.00 a bit less and sometimes bit more than the 6 gal tank price. Paul could get you a service manual for that model.

Your dealer may swap a 3 gal tank for your 6 if it looks new. They cost about the same. We do it all the time. Especially on a small RIB, the 3 may mount better.

The 30B is a complex, EFI motor, and the Factory manual is what we use in the shop. It is by far the best manual for servicing that motor. There is also a kit to connect your laptop (most dealers have the kit in their shop), if you really need to get into the nitty gritty of the ecu memories, etc.

The early 9.8 manual did not translate well, and in fact had a couple of typos. The newer manual, for the 9.8A3, (also suitable for the earlier models of 9.8 4-st), on the other hand, is PDG.
