Defining "OK acceleration and good cruising speed" is usually different to each person.

The 3-blade is a great all-around prop.

Now we're starting to get into specifics of your entire setup.

First of all, from what I am told, the 4-blade will give a better hole-shot off the line (faster to get on plane) but may suffer a little at top speed.

When you say cruising speed, I must assume you mean something around half throttle. Having 3-4 people in a smaller boat will greatly affect the characteristics of planing and cruising. Without testing, we cannot give any reasonable recommendation for which prop is best for you.

As a rule of thumb, take the prop guide and go an inch below their pitch rating. When your boat is empty, it will probably be very close to (if not over) the WOT rpm of the engine. When you have your "normal load", you will be happier with the better initial thrust and cruising speed of the lower pitch.

Again, without testing, we can only give theoretical assistance.

Good luck!

That prop would probably hit the mark if you run with 3..4 people. 17 may seem a tad small but you have a 1.62 gear ratio and a heavy boat (Conservative)...But water sports and heavy loads would not be a issue

But that prop would be a first pick....Its hard to get real close with a wag but a 18p should be right in all situations
