most trailers made today are good. depends on you location. every section of the country, has it's own market and manufacturers. if using in salt water, i recommend an Aluminum trailer. fresh water a Galvinized trailer. paint trailers have a tendency to rust out, as the paint gets scratched.

Shorelander and EZ Loader are also good brands. Axles and springs are pretty universal so it's the frame construction and bunk/roller design that makes the trailer what it is.

Karavan makes some fine trailers.
Even their budget line of light weight trailers come with better axles, hubs, and hardware than most other manufacturers.

Champion trailers are pretty popular down here. Even if you don't get one of their trailers you ought to download their catalog, it has about every trailer part known to man in it.

I have a Owens and Son, (Aluminum Slide-On) built locally in St. Petersburg (Tampa Bay Area) and have been very happy with it. Slightly more more but better quality then some generic ones I looked at.
