I did that , once .
They now sit about 7.5 miles upstream from the ramp , in about 25' of water ...

Cheap sunglasses haunt you like a ghost , you cannot give them away .

Yep. The cheap ones never get lost, sat on, stepped on, dropped in the water. They know they're cheap, so they try harder than the snotty expensive ones. :D The Bass Pro ones float.

i use the basic $20 polarized cheapies but my son uses Costas. i think they were about $160. and as much as it hurts to say, when i have tried them they cut the glare better and let me see fish better. back in the day when i didn't need the glasses i do now my shooting glasses were Ray Bans and they were definatly better than cheap shooting glasses. i remember almost choking when i had to pay $70 for them 30 yrs ago.

I also have a pair of Walmart shades ($14 if I recall) which look a bit goofy but cut through the ripples and sun reflected water amazingly!

That said, I'm sure you get what you pay for, as with most things, and ~$150 will likely get you a pair you will be happier with for the longer term.

An easy test for good polarization is to look at a non-glare computer or digital camera screen. If you can't see the picture at all, they are nice shades.

I use a pair of ??brand?? polarized from Walmart, were $18 on clearance, $36 originally. Never had a chance to try many good ones, but those have done great for me. I guess I don't really want to hear the high priced ones are better ;)
