I am not sure if this is the same post as before but Key West was ranked 4th very impressive better than Boston Whaler.

"Coastal Fishing Boats:
Grady White won this category again receiving the highest rating in eight (8) of the nine (9) categories. The next highest rated were Triton, Scout, Key West and Boston Whaler respectively. Angler and Pro-Line brought up the rear."

Troypolla,
I'm looking at a 2006 Key West CC with a yamaha f115 on it. I was also thinking of putting a bimini on it like you have on your 2005 but hoping it would not rattle or get in the way of fishing. Also, I have the option of upgrading to Yamaha F150 for additional $2600.00. Good idea? or a waste of money? The boat dealer wants $19,995 without trailer for the boat, its a left over (has dept finder, captain chairs bow pad, coast guard package, full tank of gas). Just looking for some advise about the boat itself, motor upgrade?, bimini? Any advise or thoughts of what you would do again or differently would be very much apreciated. I plan to moor it by the Cape Cod Canal in Massachusetts. Thanks, Tom M. ps your boat looks awesome!

Re: Best boat votes for 2005

Well, If i had the extra 2600 dollars i would up the motor to the 150. My top speed is about 39mph at 5900 rpm. I bet it would scream to about 48-50 with that 150 on it. I do have that bimini on it but with it up it does get in the way of fishing. I usually take it off if I will be doing fishing mostly, and put it back on if I will be pleasure boating, or just riding around. The only rattle I found is on the winshield. The screws tend to come loose with the vibrrations. As for the boat I love it. Has everything I need in the right ammounts.

I live so far south in the US I don't really do much winterizing. There should not be any water in the raw washdown or the livewell if the plug is pulled from the well. There is no tank that I know of for the wash down. There are two stopcocks in that small hatch that you can turn to not allow any water to get int there, but then if there was any water in there and it froze it would probably crack the fittings. I usually leave them open. You will see what I am talking about when you stick your head down in there. they have yellow stopcock valves.
