This ball mount is rated at 6,000# and 600# tongue weight. After parking the boat I noticed the ball was tilted down. It must have happened while launching the boat. The ramp was steeper than usual. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening or worse, damaging the trailer or hitch? I bought a new ball mount made with welded steel “TowSmart” from menards. If the same thing happens something has to give. Should I leave the bent mount on?

The first pic looks like stamped steel tube? I'd never use that. The second pic, if that bends, I'd think something else would give first.

agreed, first is a stamped steel tube (if it was forged, it would be solid and weigh about 20#)

the second is a 6000# class 3 typical hitch
