I have a 1956 Evinrude 15 hp that has a bent flywheel. It doesn't rub anywhere, but you can see the runout in out when the motor runs. Will this hurt the motor to run it like this? Also, is there any way to fix it? The only thing I could think of would be to put it in a shop press and apply pressure just until the bend is forced out. Would that damage it further?

I wouldn't try straightening it. Aluminum breaks too easily. It'd suck big time if it frisbee'd off the powerhead at full tilt. Check around for a used one. Try tcoutboard.com

Damaged flywheels are about as dangerous as an Iraq roadside bomb. At least you know the bombs are probably there. The flywheel can explode when you don't even think about it and decapitate you. Please replace it and NEVER use a puller that grips the outside edges. That's what bends them. Use a 3-bolt puller that pulls on the 3 screw holes near the center.

Do NOT try to straighten aluminum flywheel. Even if you are successful it will probably have a very weak spot in it. This can be extremely dangerous !!!
Do yourself and anyone that goes out on your boat with you a favour and replace it with a good one. Having said that a machine shop may be able to"trim and balance" what you have depending on how bad it is. I have done a few myself over the years. (not outboard though)
