Are you guys treating the u-joint bellows with trilux anti foul paint? this is my first time changing the bellows and seems like it should get some kind of protection from crud that grows below the waterline.

Thanks

You could put the paint on there, I guess, but considering it's made of rubber and it moves, a lot, I doubt the paint will stick very long.

Ayuh,... NOTHING on the outdrive should have bottom paint on it...

Most bottom paints can set up an electrolisis issue, when painted onto outdrives......
I believe the Mercruiser guidelines state to keep bottom paint atleast an Inch from the drive..

ok, but I was intending on using trilux 33 which is made for use on outdrives. The outdrive needs to be anti foul treated, yes? I am asking if it is needed and safe to use this same stuff on the bellows. Thanks
