Am I the only idiot here, getting jack of the behaviour of some members of iboats Dockside Chat?
At present, the world is going thru probably it's greatest social upheaval (revolutions) since mid 1800's, and we have members so inmature, we are unable to discuss it sensibly without the Moderators locking the topic 'on sight'.

A perfect example of the poor manners and behaviour are demonstrated on the Bin Laden thread.

The topic is important, due to devestation and suffereing this Spiritual Leader encouraged his followers to cause, and needs to be discussed, even tho in the big picture of what is going on in the world at this very moment, not overly significant.

The moderators let this thread run, and within 24hrs, someone causes it to be locked!

I belong to 4 boards. There is never any agression or stupidty like on Dockside Chat. I can't recal a thread being locked!
As mature adults, why can't we discuss and debate the important issues that affect us in a mature and responsible manner?

Cheers

There are a good number of control freaks in the world.

Some get their kicks controlling killer terrorists.

Some get their kicks controlling a business.

I have to quit before I get this one locked.

Just have to take everything with a grain of salt (something granny used to say, sort of a patience thing)

Sorry Phil.

Experience has repeatedly proved that politics (and other topics) invariably decline into nasty, uncivil behavior. iboats management insists that that sort of behavior be excluded from our forum, so we exclude politics, etc. from posting.

Many of us sympathize with your frustration, but the rule is firm: no politics, social controversy, religion or other topics that spur anger.

I doubt that fora that tolerate such topics remain civil. I have never seen one and have abandoned several because of exactly what we forbid here.

I am going to close this thread because we also forbid debating the management, rules or moderation of this forum.
