hey men, (don s,haut,bondo),appreciate all your help.now,is it better to change oil(4.3 merc.mpi.)before or after winter lay-up? thanks again for your advice.

I generally do it when I pull the boat out of moorage......
However, we do get some nice days up here in the winter & the sound does not freeze, so I do use the boat once in a while.....
I change it again in the spring before mooring again & once in the end of July......
If you are storing for six months or so, I would chage it when you lay up, just to check the overall condition of the oil & in the spring, just because it sat......:)

I am using Mobile One Synthetic oil. I still will change it mid July and during winterization and then leave it along until the next July.
BTW Talking about winter so soon is not a good thing :(
Winter sucks lol
