Hi
i have maxum 3000 SCR 1998, just bought the boat couple weeks ago,so still new in boating.
When i turn ignition key on port engine beeping sound you can hear every time, but starboard engine doesn't beep every time and when is not beeping engine wont start.
But after a little time beep again, doesn't matter if engine is cold or hot.
Today I was on the boat and first time i turn ignition i hear beep then i turn off ignition and try turn again no more beep, after that i try probably 10 time more but no beep and no start.
Port side for now beeping and starting normal.
Both engine have 220hrs and they appear in good condition, raw water cooled.
Out drive clean, engine oil level good, but out drive reservoir oil level is on low position, because when survey was done mechanic pull a little oil out for inspection. So i it possible because of that.
Or what else could be.

Thanks

Re: Beeping sound

The first thing you need to do is top off all fluids including drive fluid then go from there. This will eliminate the alarm for that reason. Also be sure all electrical connections are clean and free of corrosion. This includes terminals at the battery and starter. They need to be clean and tight.

Re: Beeping sound

Sounds like you have a loose electrical connection somewhere cutting power to the ignition. As per above, check all of your connections for corrosion, including main grounds and bus bars.
