Beep beep

I have a 97 Mercury 200 dfi when I start it I have an alarm comes on it goes beep beep beep and under the throdle there is a guage for oil water and it looks like a light bulb with upside down 7 in it and when it beeps this light is staying on. Before I could start it and turn it off two or three times and it would clear up I mark my oil and the water pump is doing its job it runs cool water for awhile after its shut off. I have payed to have this problem fixed and it was supposed to b fixed but before I got out of no wake it came on does anybody have any idea of what I can do for this problem I really need help the boat is a nitro savage

Intermittent beep on my 90 hp was oil warning. The oil float in the oil tank was wired with a pair of lt. blue/white stripe wires; open circuit safe, short fail. If you have the same two wires, you can ohm between them when the fail occurs and you will get a short circuit. If the magnet in the oil tank fell from it's perch, the magnetic sensing switch attached to the oil tank will think you are low on oil and send a short circuit to your alarm module which will modulate the signal to an intermittent short to distinguish it from OT alarms which are solid and supply a short to ground (battery -) to the alarm horn/remote light wire....tan I think, up around your control box in the wiring harness.

Possibly you have something like this. One of the mechanics on here like Silvertip or Steelspike will probably kick in and tell you how to fix the detatched magnet......if that's the problem. But it makes sense to me.

Thanks a lot I will check it out because one time when I start it up it will come on and the next time it's not u wouldn't beleive how long I've had this problem again thanks need all the help I can get I have had five different boats but this problem has had me whipped I can hear that beaping in my sleep
