Beede tach setting for 96 115 Merc

Beede tach has 1, 2, 3, 4 on the back and the quicksilver had several, but was set on 6P. I think the faria was the same way...does anyone know what the Beede should be set on ? It was 6P on the quicksilver.

They are still in business the web site has a customer support link and installation troubleshooting. It lists all the outboards and the tach settings.

It should be set on 4 for a 12 pole alternator.
