i recently bought new bearings for my little trailer. they don't slide on easily like i thought they would. am i supposed to pound them on? do i fill them with grease and then use the axle (with the lug bolts on it) and pound them on?

Re: bearings

You might want to check the size. Some axels vary by 1/16" and so do the bearings. On occasion an axle might need some emory cloth to smoot it but I have never seen a case to pound on or force on a bearing.

You shouldn't have to pound them on, but they do need to be tapped into place. If they were loose they would spin and wear the shafts. As Bob says check your sizes. :) :) :)

Re: bearings

Is it cold where you are? Heat the bearings up with a hair dryer, they should just slip on with a slight interference fit.
