After removing the prop, and four bolts in the bearing housing, do you need a wheel puller on all engines? Mine looks like it is screwed in, or am I looking at something else? 1990 Evinrude XP 150 # E150STLESB

Re: bearing housing

What you are probably looking at at the aft end of the housing, are the hydrostatic seal rings, they are not threads. The carrier pulls through the prop shaft with a puller applied against the prop shaft. I would suggest getting a OMC shop manual to do this operation, plus what ever other maintenance you would need to do.
