Bearing Grease

Hey folks, <br />Got any reccomendations on the type of grease to use when repacking the wheel bearings on my boat trailer? I'm totally new to the world of trailering/boating etc. I'm still in the process of getting everything ready, havn't even had it on the water yet. It was sitting for 5 years before I got my hands on it, so I have some upkeep to do first. Popped off the caps and there is lots of moisture in the bearings, So I'm going to replace the bearings and seals, and don't know if I can repack with just the all purpose grease I have or if I need something specific for trailers submerged in water. <br />Thanks all

I use a marine grade grease such as this:<br /> Marine grease<br />Don't know if it's any better than standard bearing grease, but makes me feel better.

Here is what I use. Most of the "marine" greases are not rated for the temperatures encounter by wheels with brakes on them.<br /><br />EP-NLGL 2<br />HIGH GRADE - HI TEMP GREASE

Thanks for the responses.<br />My trailer doesn't have brakes, so I should be ok with just the marine grease I suppose. (or whichever is cheaper)

Any #2 wheel bearing grease is OK...use the spring loaded (bearing buddies)dust caps and you will stop any moisture problems, they breathe when you submerge,preventing water from being sucked in due to the change in temperature.
