Bearing Buddy Spindo Seals/Grease Question

I took off my hub to check for water intrusion. No water, but the grease looked a bit runny after two years' service. Also, a couple parts which I found out make up a 'Spindo Seal' fell out of the grease blob. They consist of a cup onto which the seal actually rides instead of riding on the spindle--and an O-ring which fits snugly on the spindle. Here are my questions: 1)When reinstalling, does the o-ring go on first, then the cup? 2)Is it okay to mix Pennzoil #2 marine grade grease with Lubrimatic #2 marine grade grease (the color and texure seem to differ slightly). Also I want to thank the people out there who take their own time to offer advice to us do-it-yourselfers.

Re: Bearing Buddy Spindo Seals/Grease Question

I've worked with Speedi-Sleeves, which gives you a "New" Seal Surface........But, there's No O-rings involved.......

I've also seen wheel seals of a multi-piece design, which sometimes have O-rings........

I'm Guessing that you may have the latter......
If that's the case,... The 1s I've worked with you have to assemble in the hub,+ Slide it all on in 1 shot to get it seated.......

As far as your Grease Question,........... I'd just Buy enough grease to do the job at hand,.......Grease is CHEAP......
Then you'll have 3 partials laying around..... :D

Re: Bearing Buddy Spindo Seals/Grease Question

I use Bearing Buddy Spindo seals. The o ring goes on first and the new ss bearing surface next.
